Convertible Roof Impregnator
Information about convertible roof impregnator
Convertible roof impregnator is a must have for anyone with a convertible or for detailers who are going to need to treat a convertible. A convertible roof is made primarily of vinyl or fabric, making it a sensitive and porous roof. The structure also allows dirt and algae to settle easily in the convertible roof. To protect your roof and keep it in good condition, you need convertible roof impregnator.
Convertible roof impregnating agents are coatings specifically made to treat textiles. It makes the roof water and dirt repellent and protects it from the sun's UV rays. Because the roof is protected, it will also stay cleaner longer and be easier to clean. In this way you ensure that the roof does not become weathered, green and dirty. In addition, it will not leak easily because it is water repellent.
In order to apply convertible roof impregnant, however, you must always clean the convertible roof very well first. Simply washing with a car shampoo and your 2 bucket method is not enough. You should always still use a specific convertible roof cleaner and a brush to best remove the dirt from the pores of the roof. The better you clean the roof, the longer the roof will be protected and the better the convertible roof will be protected.
However, it is important to always make sure that when you are going to apply the convertible roof impregnant that the roof is completely dry. This is considerably drier than just dry by feel. It is therefore recommended that you let the roof dry for 12 hours at room temperature when you have cleaned your roof with a convertible roof cleaner. Also remember that after applying convertible roof impregnant, the roof will also need to dry. So make sure that after applying the impregnating agent, you can keep the roof dry for 12 hours as well.
In general, you can say that you will need to reapply a layer of convertible roof impregnant every 6 to 12 months to continue to guarantee maximum protection. Of course, this depends on the conditions under which the convertible is used. A convertible that is driven every day and has a lot of kilometers on it will of course need to be protected faster than a convertible that is hardly ever driven and always kept in a garage.
You can often easily apply the convertible roof impregnant with an applicator or microfiber cloth. Some also recommend a brush. Always review the product's instructions for use before applying. Also, always try to wipe off excess product with a microfiber cloth to prevent spots of the convertible roof impregnant.
