Car Glaze
Information about car glaze
A car glaze is a product made specifically to temporarily add extra shine and reflection to paintwork. They fill small paint defects such as wax scratches with oils so that they are temporarily unnoticeable, making the paint feel smoother and also have more shine and reflection. Some car glaze products are also color-based so it fills in slightly larger scratches and stone chips dots making the paint look even cleaner. They may also be polish-based. This sometimes makes them not only a glaze but also an all in one polish. These products not only mask wax scratches but also remove them to a very limited extent. Some of these polishes also have a wax in their formulation which adds even more shine and will make the result of the glaze last longer.
So the car glaze is a temporary product. So all scratches and paint imperfections that it temporarily covers up will come back over time or after 1 or more washes. You can make the car glaze last as long as possible by protecting it with a wax or spray coating and washing it with a mild pH neutral car shampoo. Applying multiple coats of car glaze will not prolong or improve the result or durability.
Applying a glaze is easy and depends on the type of glaze. If it is a simple spray then you can apply it quickly by spraying twice per panel and working it in with a microfiber cloth or applicator. A polish can be worked in the same way or with a polishing pad on an eccentric polisher. Excess auto glaze is best removed with a microfiber cloth.
