Vinyl & Plastic Dressing
Vinyl & Plastic Dressing
Information about vinyl & plastic dressing
Vinyl, Plastic & Plastic Dressing is a product that every detailer has lying around. This is because it can completely transform the look of a car. Many cars have plastic parts, especially the bumpers. After a while they become gray, dull and dried out by the UV rays of the sun. This can make a car look very untidy and old. However, this is very easy to solve by applying a Vinyl, Plastic & Plastics Dressing.
When you go to apply the dressing, though, it is always important to make sure they are completely clean. This is best done with a wash with car shampoo and your 2 bucket method or with a degreaser or all purpose cleaner to remove the dirt. If you then clean the surface with an isopropyl degreaser and a microfiber cloth, you will get optimal adhesion between the dressing and the surface. This way you get the best results with the longest durability. Applying multiple coats of dressing one after another does not make the dressing stay on the car longer. It can, however, ensure that they will have more shine.
What is possible and also recommended is when you have very preserved plastic parts to apply a Vinyl, Plastic & Plastics Dressing on a regular basis. This is because there are already oils in plastic. Hence, some people use a hair dryer or heat gun to blacken the plastic back. However, this is a huge mistake. The heat causes the oils that are deeper in the plastic to come to the surface, making the plastic appear black again. However, these oils will also disappear again, and faster than before. You will dry out the plastic parts and they will become dull and dry out even faster than before.
If you have preserved plastic parts you can, however, apply the dressing on a regular basis. In this way, the plastics will begin to absorb the dressing oils again, so they will stay black longer over time. This is the best way to maintain plastic parts and keep them nice and clean black. This makes a Vinyl, Plastic & Plastics Dressing an absolute must have for every detailer.
